After Hurricane Katrina severely damaged the home of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s only Jewish congregation, the Beauvoir Methodist Church invited Beth Israel to use its church for services on Friday nights. The members of Beth Israel continued to meet at Beauvoir until their new synagogue was completed in 2009.
