Opening summer at Henry S. Jacobs Camp
Jewish parents in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and western Tennessee create the region’s first Jewish summer camp. Designed to provide religious instruction and a uniquely Jewish social environment, the camp continues to serve Jews in the Deep South. Winona native Macy B. Hart led the camp for its first thirty years.
